Our story

"How do I transport it by car to Hanover without risking shattering the screen at the first jolt?"

This thought was haunting me in the days before the trade show.

At the time, I was working as a sales manager for a multinational company in Tezze sul Brenta, a small town a few kilometers from Bassano del Grappa, Italy.

A few months earlier, I had convinced the owner to buy a 42" plasma TV for the meeting room, so I could show a video during the meetings with the clients.

So, in preparation for the most important trade fair in Germany, one of the tasks I was assigned was to bring the huge television to the company's booth.

I had to transport it by car... And, given its size, even a sudden braking would have been enough to damage it irreparably.

Claudio, one of my closest friends and a brilliant carpenter, came to my rescue. I knew that the company he worked for built strange crates to transport equipment and musical systems.

In just a few days, Claudio built one of these cases for me, a flight case that could fit the television. It was sturdy, but light and practical to carry. The dimensions were shaped to perfection to fit in the trunk of the car. Best of all, I could load and unload the television very quickly, without risking damage.

On that occasion, I experienced first-hand how much a seemingly simple tool could simplify the transport of a bulky and delicate object...

How many other problems could a custom-made flight case solve?

It was only the beginning of a long adventure.

The beginnings

Everything started with a television in the car

Like many Italian companies, Race Case was born from a friendship before a partnership. But, unlike all the products conceived by the enthusiasm of the entrepreneur and then finished in the oblivion of technology, Race Case cases are born to solve a real problem.

Stefano Rigon, sales manager of a company in the industrial sector, asks his friend Claudio Gelain to build a custom-made flight case to transport a television set to a trade fair.

The ease, safety and speed of loading the television thanks to a special trunk struck Stefano, who sees in the flight case an ideal working tool for the industrial world.

After a few months, Stefano leaves the company he works for and convinces Claudio to join him for an adventure as reckless as stimulating: to create a company manufacturing custom flight cases.

The birth of Bottega Quadra

In 2012 Bottega Quadra takes shape, earning its first commissions by bringing to the industrial field Claudio's experience in the construction of flight cases for audio and video services.

After a few months, the first customer from the fascinating world of motorsport arrives: Krypton Motorsport, a team that competes in the Carrera Cup.

Cars and motorcycles are one of the greatest passions of Stefano and Claudio, who dive with enthusiasm in the complex game of joints required by this sector.

The first Bottega Quadra flight cases immediately won over teams such as Kessel and AF Corse.

Stefano and Claudio soon realized that no flight case manufacturer had a working method suitable for the needs of a logistically complex sector such as professional racing. Everything was left to the intuition of some craftsman.

So they decided to specialize further, developing Race Ready, a specific flight case design system created specifically for motorsport teams.

It was time for a new stage for the company.

Thanks to the success of innovative products such as drivers locker room, telemetry case, brake discs case, in 2019 the new brand Race Case is born, completely focused on motorsport and today partner of the most prestigious teams in the world.

Ing. Stefano Rigon, co-founder

Stefano Rigon, mechanical engineer, after a long experience in the hydraulics industry, founded Bottega Quadra and the Race Case brand.

He coordinates the entire project management, from the analysis stage to the delivery of the flight cases.

Claudio Gelain, co-founder

Claudio Gelain is the mind behind the most brilliant technical solutions of Race Case trunks. He gave up a secure high paying job in one of the most important carpentry companies in Northern Italy, to follow Stefano in their adventure.

Today he is in charge of coordinating Race Case operators and designers. In each new flight case he challenges the laws of mechanics, to ensure the most demanding teams the perfect combination of strength, lightness and functionality.
